27 January 2010

Grant Thornton wins the HealthInvestor Accountant of the Year award 2009, recognising their seamless range of services for a variety of high profile assignments across all parts of the healthcare sector.

David Brooks, Head of Healthcare M&A, collected the award at a recent ceremony, which was hosted by Michael Portillo and attended by over 750 leaders in the healthcare profession, including representatives from most of the major private and public sector healthcare organisations, lenders, financiers, accountants and advisers.

The 12-strong judging panel consisted of independent healthcare industry experts, including Patricia Hewitt, as well as senior representatives for the Health Select Committee, Imperial College London, the Department of Health, CBI, Partnerships UK, Abbey UK and Assura. We fought off very strong competition from Deloitte, BDO and last year's winner Moore Smalley.

Sean Croston, Head of Healthcare, says: "This award acknowledges the external awareness of our firm's genuine healthcare sector knowledge and the dedication of our healthcare team to deliver innovative solutions that add commercial value."
