Launch date set for Finance Yorkshire Fund

Finance Yorkshire, the £90m venture capital fund which aims to help SME's in the region, is set to launch on March 12 at Aspire in Leeds. The inaugural event will begin a series of launch events across the region to mark the start of the fund. Finance Yorkshire will be a £90m fund - thought to be one of the largest venture capital funds in the UK . Finance Yorkshire will be unveiled by Rosie Winterton MP, Minister for Regional Economic Development and Co-ordination, at the Leeds event March 12. Planned to start investing in early Spring, the Fund will provide seedcorn loan and equity investments ranging from £15,000 and £2million, to help small and medium businesses raise the funding they need alongside investment from the commercial market. The Fund has been created using investment from Yorkshire Forward, ERDF from the European Union and the European Investment Bank and for the first time will provide region wide access to finance for all qualifying businesses.
